FOR MY HUSBAND

I hold your hand and walk beside you.
We embrace and I am free.
I lose myself in loving you,
And you get lost in loving me.

I see your eyes and I am happy.
We both think now, in terms of "we".
I share the thoughts I know will soothe you,
And, in return, you comfort me.

We've been friends for ever after,
Almost as one throughout the years,
We've built our home with days of laughter,
Strengthening it in times of tears.

Weaving it with love and dreams,
Hardening it with work and care,
What we've built, we've built together,
And no one knows the joys we share

From each new day and years to come
While being married to each other.
I could not have found a greater man
Than you, my lifetime friend and lover.
