LETTING GO

The hardest thing that I have found that all my team must know,
is when to closely hang on tight and when to let me go.

For those whom I have trust in and those I know who care,
Are patiently awaiting my experimenting dare.

It is a judgment hard to make for all those in command,
To let me try alone, and see if I can stand.
There always comes a time when I need to test my will.
I need to step beyond the fence or climb another hill.

Although it's been a long time, I want to start today.
No one is sure I'll make it or if I will lose my way.
It's hard for them to "back off" and let me try, 'cause then
If I should fall and hurt myself, we'd have to start again.

Sometimes we need to let love go and stumble through the
tears. I will learn from the struggle, growing stronger from the
fears.

And if by chance I lose the way, I'll treat myself with care.
I'll cherish every hard-earned step it took to get me there.
It's an art to know the turning point that determines when they
know, if they need to keep hanging on so tight or step back and
let me go.
