Music is the thing that makes me whole.
It calms me and keeps me in control.
Perhaps I take a different stance.
But music lets me sing and dance.
When I let loose, I take the chance
That music is the mirror of my soul.
Music is what life should always share.
Relaxation is the cue that keeps me there.
It doesn't matter what the kind.
I know it's just a state of mind.
But it's the only way I find
To ease the rising panic that I bear.
Music is God's gift to those who know
That sounds and melodies don't always show.
Yet if you listen you may hear
God's own heart within your ear
So silent he won't interfere
As other hearts, once singing, start to grow.
Music is the flow through which life passes.
Its joyous sounds excite and soothe the masses.
Though we may be far apart,
If you listen with your heart,
I will hear the music start
And we'll be joined as one, as Broadway passes.
Music is my love, my life, my goal.
It calms me down when in another role.
Then lifts me up and keeps me where
The sounds of joy are in the air,
Reminding me that God is there
Within the music in the mirror of my soul.
